ease of front?

Hola, continúo con mis traducciones de documentales y me encuentro con esta frase describiendo el carácter y organización de los antiguos romanos:

"(...) that sense of the power of the individual family, their competitiveness, their sense of personal honour, the ease of front, and the vast amount of fixing and the money that comes out of it (...)"

Las dos frases subrayadas son las que no entiendo.

Ok, here is the dialogue:

- How would you sum up to someone what it was like to be in Rome during the republican era?
- If you can imagine a large mafia, which doesn't use violence between the rival clans and is also the state, and also has a clientelistic relationship, like the mafia, with the people low down, that sense of the power of the individual family, their competitiveness, their sense of personal honour, the ease of front, and the vast amount of fixing and the money that comes out of it, I think those are all things that would strike a Greek visitor.

I still don't get "ease of front". Based on the spelling of honor as honour I'm guessing this is UK writing. Maybe a Brit colloquialism?

"the vast amount of fixing and the money that comes out of it..." might refer to the criminal activity of " fixing", as in illegally altering the outcome of an election, a race, a wager, etc.

Thanks, I believe that your interpretation of "fixing" is right... and yes, it is a brittish documentary but although I found paragraphs in which the expression is used, I have not been able to interpret it. E.g.:
"Customization efforts: More and more, OLAP tools are used as an advanced reporting tool. This is because in many cases, especially for ROLAP implementations, OLAP tools often can be used as a reporting tool. In such cases, the ease of front-end customization becomes an important factor in the tool selection process."

I've read a number of sentences with "ease of front-end" in them and most referred to either mechanical or software situations in which it loosely meant ease of access or use.

I have not seen anything with just "ease of front" and your paragraph doesn't give any clues as to what it refers to.
