Dressing is "salsa" in Spanish. I think blue cheese dressing would be "salsa de roquefort" in Spanish.
Amayo thank you! I had no clue that blue cheese dressing would be "salsa de roquefort". And to me when I hear the word "salsa" I think about the salsa you eat with chips. :o Very helpful!!
My pleasure!! Salsa is also used for sauce such as "salsa de tomate" is tomato sauce :D
Hola kvillanueva:
As far as I know, in "Mexican" Spanish that would be: aderezo de queso azul or aderezo de queso Roquefort.

Gracias xochitl that has helped!!
Thanks Xochitl that does sound better then salsa! Do you know what they call Ranch dressing in Spanish?
Thanks Xochitl! I see it´s not salsa ranchero jaja.
What does Salsa Ranchera consist of? Is it spicy? Now I want to try it!!
I see, it sounds very much like pico de gallo or salsa criolla in that case, both of which I´m a big fan of! I wonder if it depends on which country you are in if its called salsa ranchero, pico de gallo, o salsa crilolla?
I am not sure. This can be very confusing, because even in the same country the same salsa might have different names, depending on the region; for example, where I grew up "pico de gallo" is called "salsa mexicana". I didn't know it was called "pico de gallo" until I joined a cooking forum when I came to USA. (Other Mexicans called it "salsa bandera [flag]" as well).
By the way, in the region (state of Jalisco) I grew up "pico de gallo" is a mix of chopped fruit (i. e. cucumber, mango, jicama, watermelon, etc.) with a sprinkle of salt, chili powder and some lime juice.

haha... I guess the best thing to do is just ask the locals :)
The pico de gallo where you grew up sounds delicious though!!
I´ll have to make this at home and give it a try!! Thanks for passing along one of your native dishes :D
