In Rio de la Plata Spanish "comunicado de prensa" is more frequently used than "nota".

I tried the advanced search in Google. I selected Spanish search in US region and I the outcome was:
- "nota de prensa" 963.000 coincidences
- "comunicado de prensa" 4.380.000 coincidences. So I suppose this term is more appropriate.
