Friday the 13th
Awhile ago I got a tattoo that reads "viernes el dia trece" because friday the 13th is my lucky day. The guy that I got the translation from assured me that this was the correct way to say it in spanish, but several people have asked me why it isn't just "viernes el trece" I love my tattoo regardless but just wanted to know, does it really make a difference?

Re: Friday the 13th
salazar,
it is "viernes trece" without the article "the"
i don't know if in some other latin amercian countries "viernes el trece" is acceptable but i don't think so.

Re: Friday the 13th
You said you didn't know about some latin american countries because of the variations in spanish, the guy that translated it for me was Puerta Rican, but it sounds like he didn't know what he was talking about. I have heard that when referring to the unlucky friday the 13th theres a completely different word for it, anyone have any input? Thanks for all the answers as well!

Re: Friday the 13th
If you are talking about an unlucky day, at least in Spain, it must be martes 13, that can be also el 13, martes.

Re: Friday the 13th
there are no variations in spanish about the way of writing a date, just leave "viernes" and "trece" and insert some graphic over the rest
