technical term or slang?
Saludos!
I am trying to translate the term "hacking" and since Spanish is not my first language I am not confident about how to translate it.
Babelfish translated it to "cortar" and I can see why cutting would seem like hacking, but the meaning is completely different in my opinion.
So is hacking, as in computer hacking, a technical term or a slang term or maybe a technical slang term!? In any case, what would be a good way to translate this concept?
Thanks!

It's a technical word and as far as I have always used it and heard it, there is no translation for that. hacker is like an internet pirate, hacking like internet piracy, sp maybe it could be translated like that but I am not so sure since I have heard it just like that, hacker and hacking in Spanish.
Hopefully, there will be other opinions.

According to context it could be "vulnerar", like a security system. I've heard "piratear", or directly "hack".
The word hacker is common in Spanish.

Thank you both so much! I really appreciate it.
I'm afraid sometimes that I translate to literally and I don't trust many online translators for that reasons.
Thanks again. :p

You are right! Online translators can be helpful but never trust them blindly, because you can end up with a really incomprehensible text, or a gross mistake.
