Committee and Commission

Hi, everyone

I was wondering if there's a difference between these two terms, "committee" and "commission", since I have since them translated into both "comité" and "comisión", alternatively.

Yes, I agree with Coti.
There is a difference when comité is used in a political context. In Rio de la Plata, comité also means the office or meeting point of a political party.

Also I see according to DRAE that this meaning related to Politics is also applied by Spanish speakers from El Salvador and Uruguay.

It seems to me that a commission is more specific than a committee. A commission is a committee that is authorized and directed by a leader to do something. Also, in the Lexibase dictionary, committee is translated into comité and comisión, but commission (in the sense I gave) is only translated into comisión.
