I've never been in Chile but I'm told it has made a lot of progress and it's more beautiful than ever!

For some reason, Santiago gets a bad rap. I took a trip to Chile 3 years ago and, based on what everyone had told me, I only allowed 2-3 days for the city. I got there and ended up regretting not being able to spend more time. It's very walkable, there's a good amount of green space, and every neighborhood is different from the one next to it. There are a couple good museums, bookstores, one of Pablo Neruda's houses (La Chascona), good nightlife, one of the cleanest and most efficient subway systems I've ever seen, etc. Santiago is definitely worth checking out.

It's true. I've been there with my family a couple of years ago and the minute they heard we were Argentine citizens, they started treating us differently
(not all of them, of course).I guess there might be some kind of rivalry between the two countries. Saludiños, Bel ![]() |

Really? I've never been there and I don't understand why they don't like us. If anything, they should feel sorry for us! There is no rivalry anymore. They've won by a looooong shot. |

It's a long story (problems with borders/the Falkland Islands war/job-related problems, etc.)... the main problem is in the neighboring cities/provinces, like Mendoza and Neuquén (Argentina). This "rivalry" has been going on forever, and I think it'll continue in the future... |
