Question United Nations

There is a seminar on how to translate for the United Nations, on August 21 at the Colegio de Traductores Publicos de Buenos Aires.....

Is anybody of this forum translating already for any world wide organism to give some tips here?

Default United Nations

Thanks for letting us know about this course. I have never worked for this international organization but I know of a friend who is making huge efforts to be hired by the United Nations. She applied last year and made it to the exam but did not pass, so this course might be of great help to her for she wants to give it another shot. Thanks a lot!

Default United Nations

I only know that she had to sit for like 4 to 5 hours to complete the written examination. Results were given after 6 months and very few passed. These exams are taken every two years or so...Has anyone attended the seminar at the Colegio de Traductores so as to give us more tips about translating for the United Nations?
