Default Translator events - La Habana, Cuba / December 2006

Hello:

I am dying to go to Cuba, but I am a US citizen by birth who is a legal resident of Mexico (Mexico City). I am former ESL/EFL teacher (30 years here in Mexico City including the UNAM & IPN), turned translator (17 1/2 years) specializing in Spanish to English translation of financial documents. Because I am of US nationality, how can I get around this hurdle to be able to attend? Can someone give me some tips on what to do?

Thank you,
Richard Cadena
Mexico City
PS: I also play Cuban music (congas, bongos, etc.) and latin jazz.

Thumbs up Going to Cuba

Is not legal, but you could go, you have to fly from a different place than US, and they are not going to stamp your passport, so nobody knows that you went there. I have a couple of friends US citizens that fly to Bahamas and then to Cuba, and they don't have any problem... And La Havana is a wonderfulll place to know!
