The conference was good, there were a lot of people, and is in the same good level than other Localization World events....
China... China, was great, but not so easy... to go to China is like this difficult philosophy books, that after you read them, you were happy about that, but while you read them.... you were not so happy. 1. The food: no comments, just Mcdonalds. 2. Shanghai VS Beijing: 2 different worlds, see my post about LISA Beijing Conference. 3. Shanghai: GUAU! It looks like a 2020 City, it is 6 times Manhattan. I agree with the fact that China is a completely different world...
and you need to ´get into´ that world to try to understand it... If you go and live it from ´the outside´ and from ´our western lenses´ it might be shocking, and for some people it might become a nightmare... I think, and feel deep in my heart, that Chinese people are just great, -sensitive, funny, generous, friendly. And, to most westerners´ surprise, the chinese and us have more in common than what you think... For Chinese food in Buenos Aires, you ´only´ go to the Chinese neiborhood...(Juramento, Arribeños, Montañeses sts.). The rest is just a ´romanization´ of chinese food. |
