Question translators through the history

¡hola a tod@s!

Lo que sucede es que estoy preparando una exposición, y el tema esta algo complicado de encontar. Ya lo he buscado por muchos citios pero aun nada concreto.
Es acerca de lo siguinte:
1) cual ha sido el rol de los traductores en la historia
2) Cual es el rol del traductor en los conflictos armados(antigua cortina de hierro)
3)Ejemplos de traductores que han muerto en esos conflictos armados
( puede ser en ingles o en español)

Honestamante agradezco mucho cualquier ayuda.

Try researching the history of "Filipillo" in the Spanish conquest of Perú or "La Malinche" in Mexico. That should give you a good start for the historical aspect, aside from the great information Sandra provided. Hope it helps!
