Hello everyone,
I just wanted to share with all of you my experience with on-line translation. Let me begin by saying I don't speak Spanish, but I have always liked Latin music, Bachata in particular, and "Hoja en Blanco," by Monchy and Alejandra is one of my favorites. (Burbujas de Amor #1) Of course, I'm guessing, but to me, hoja en blanco means, something in or on white. I say, "something" because I don't know the meaning of the word, "hoja." Anyway, tonight I thought I would finally discover the meaning of, "hoja en blanco." Well, the Google Translator gave me, "blank sheet" and Yahoo Babelfish spit back, "leaf in target." I think it's safe to say that on-line translators are no threat to those of you with careers in translation. |

Not at all... in this one Google is right : hoja en blanco is the correct term.
It reminds me when I looked for the word "banco" in Spanish... It translates to bank (as in financial institution) as well as stool (to sit on -not feces)... Fortunately, machines will never substitute human brains... ![]() |
