Tengo muchísimos libros en español de autores latinoamericanos famosos como Julio Cortázar, Gabriel Garcia Márquez, etc.
Para practicar la traducción he tenido la idea de ir a la biblioteca y sacar un libro de ellos, pero en inglés. Después, traduciría partes del libro en español al inglés y las compararía con el libro en inglés a ver si mi traduccion llega a la del traductor profesional que tradujo el libro en inglés. ¿Sería una buena manera de practicar y mejorar la traducción? Hay personas aquí que han hecho la misma cosa o algo semejante? |

Actually, yours is a good question. I thought of doing the same myself. But my consideration about it is the following.
If you are going to do that, first of all you might want to make sure that you run a deep research on who the best translator was for the writer you translate. As you can imagine, many might have translated them into English, and even the bests might have made mistakes. Remember as well, that each translator has his/ her own way to translate. Of course, this is only my opinion on the subject. I hope that it helps. ![]() |
