Sports Discuss anything related to sports, including the translation of sports terminology. Why is a bicycle kick called a "chilena” in Argentina? Is a home run a jonrón, a cuadrangular or simply a home run? Who is the best footballer in the world?

Default FELICIDADES a LOS ARGENTINOS

Congratulations to el Argentino Angel Cabrera of Córdoba and to the people of Agentina. Angel won the Masters today, one of the most prestigious golf tournaments in all the world.

This win should erase the sad memory of Argentino Roberto DiVincenzo who lost the Masters in 1968 by a tecnicality when he signed his score card with an error on it. He had actually won but he signed his card which showed, erroneously, that he had scored a 4 on a hole when he actually had a 3. This is a rule of golf that you must check your card and make sure it is correct before you sign it. Roberto's mistake was one of the saddest and MOST unfortunate incidents in the history of golf.

Now, at last, Argentina has it's Masters champion.
