Sports Discuss anything related to sports, including the translation of sports terminology. Why is a bicycle kick called a "chilena” in Argentina? Is a home run a jonrón, a cuadrangular or simply a home run? Who is the best footballer in the world?

Default Lingering doubt

Why is a bicycle kick called a "chilena"???? It seemed so promising that that doubt would be answered here! Does anyone actually know?

This is supposed to be a question for soccer fans:

Bicicleta o chilena en "balón pié":
a soccer football kick, with the back sprawled out, air suspended and shooting leg at 90 degrees.

I`ve heard of da.

Excuse me, something left:

Running a bicycle with a little effort, makes a 90 degree body shape.
