"Honey, thanks again for the money. What are you doing today? Are you thinking about me like I am about you? When you come to my country, if you want we can go to the beach. Do you like the beach? Would you like to visit museums with me?

Another thing...do you know when my birthday is???"

It's not slang so much as bad grammar and spelling...

This is not Spanish slang. This is bad and poorly written Spanish, lots of grammar, spelling and typing mistakes.

Besides, this is not a forum to do free translations but to help on difficult terms or expressions, or to correct minor mistakes when you already did your try. I refuse to do this kind of things and ask the colleagues to do the same.

Walter, I understand your concerns but we have addressed this issue several times in the past. If you don't want to help someone that is your privilege; however, there are those here who like to do these minor translations out of kindness or in order to practice.

I seriously doubt that the poster would want to pay a professional to translate a short love note. It only takes a few minutes of our time to help someone who does not speak or write Spanish and sometimes these small translations generate interesting and informative discussions amongst the professionals.

Vicente:

Is this Spanish slang? This person should need to learn Spanish first.

Which person? The poster or the author of the note?

Of course it is not slang but how is a person who does not speak Spanish going to know that and if the poster knew Spanish he/she wouldn't need a translator.

True, the person who wrote the note doesn't write very well but, again, we get a lot of poorly written English and Spanish but that's not the issue. The poster asked us to translate it and Scott did. Good for him. He did somebody a favor and got nothing in return but the satisfaction of helping someone.

Walter, why not just ignore these posts if they bother you?
