What are affectionate terms a mother or father would call a daughter (like in English we'd use "darling", "honey", "sweetheart" etc"?)
Is there anything regional about this? I am looking for words used in Argentina. ![]()

For little girls we can hear: "linda", "princesa", "reina", "mi amor".
Of course, when you are not upset!! (lol) Any other suggestions? |

"nena" ("nene" for boys) is very common among Argentine mothers/fathers, to the point that you're ALWAYS a "nena" (girl) to them, no matter how many decades have gone by... "nenita" could apply to a very young daughter. both "nena" and "nenita" can be said in a funny/teasing way to any other girl: a sister, a friend.
all the terms analaura suggested are affectionate and common here to address a girl/woman you like a lot, but not restricted to daughters: a girlfriend, lover or wife could be addressed like that. more? "preciosa", "muñeca", "chiquita" (for a little girl or in a loving-teasing manner). |
