Gracias!

Aqui en EEUU se usan "escape"...como escape from the world; escape from the maddening crowd; escape from reality; escape from the daily grind; escape from my problems, etc, etc. Por ejemplo "After a hard day at the office writing about fashion is my way of escaping from the world." or simply "Writing about fashion is my escape"

How about ...
After a hard day at the office, coaching little league keeps me grounded.
Re: ¿Cómo se dice "cable a tierra"?
Yep, "grounded" is good, useful alternative to escape. It implies that coaching little league keeps you from going nuts.:D
"Refuge" is another alternative.
