Can anyone help with:-

1 - Terrazas invertidas

2 - Anisotropías

3 - Heterogeneidades

Nos. 2 & 3 refer to resistencia - for example of mortero.

Can anyone recommend a good Spanish-English dictionary covering the field of architecture and construction - I obviously need to buy one? Is there anything online that would keep me going temporarily?

Segun una contribución de "Geni" (23/07/08) una "terraza invertida" es el aislamiento por la cara exterior de una terraza o de una cubierta.

En el mundo inglés, mucho más práctico que el español, el término a utilizar es sencilla y llanamente "external wall insulation."

Hay un artículo en inglés sobre las ventajas e inconvenientes de usar aislamiento externo para las terrazas que precisamente le dá la razon a "Geni." Aislamiento por la cara interior ("internal wall insulation") es la mejor opción.

"Anisotropía" es "anisotropy" en inglés, la variabilidad de una propiedad física según la dirección que se tome. Por ejemplo, el fenómeno de lentes polarizadas.
