Hi!!
I needed to translate this word in the context of a medical translation. It refers to a clear ring around a cell that you see when you look through a microscope. I thought about just leaving halo, but I'm not 100% convinced. There must be a better word!!

I would use the literal translation too. I follow a link from the NIH in the US where you can see the term used in many different references:
