Default Células en palomita de maíz

Hi there!
I am coping with a highly technical translation on hematopathology of Hodgkin´s Lymphoma from Spanish into English. I came across the term "células en palomita de maíz" for the L&H cells typical of one type of HL. After some research I found just one reliable source that uses the term "popcorn cells". I appreciate if you can help me with some back-up to support my decision to respect that term. Thank you all in advance!

Hi gentle! Are you looking for a common name for the cells or something more scientific? I think "popcorn cell" would be ok as long as you specify that it is a L&H cell variant...hope it helps!

Hi gentle,
I found just one reference. I'm copying so you can check the link.

In NLPHL, L&H or popcorn variants of HRS cells are found within nodules rich in B lymphocytes. In LRCHL, HRS cells which may resemble L&H cells or lacunar ...

Thumbs up Excellent!

Thank you SandraT! Pretty useful link. I had actually been surfing and searching at the American Society of Hematology´s site with no luck. It´s quite a valuable reference.
On the other side, I noticed I forgot to mention my source: a couple of papers from John L. Kennedy M.D. from the University of Illinois at Chicago (http://www.uic.edu/depts/mcpt/curric...k_lecture.html and http://www.uic.edu/depts/mcpt/curric...03hemat10.pdf).
I think they both make a pretty good back up for our choice for "popcorn cells". Cheers!
