Default juez segundo de Paz Penal

Hi, I am working on a document from Guatemala and the following term was used to describe a judge. I can work out the meanings of each of the words separately, but I was wondering if there is a good way to put it all together...

"juez segundo de Paz Penal"

Many thanks

In Guatemala each municipality has its own criminal court whose judge is appointed by the Country's Supreme Court. The judges or magistrates of these courts are call judge of peace or juez de paz. In very small municipalities the juez de paz is oftem the mayor but in large cities there are several distinguised by their appointment number. Your reference is to that municipality's second magistrate of the criminal court.

Here is a link to a good basic discription of the government of Guatemala. http://www.nyulawglobal.org/globalex...udicial_Branch

Default It's official

there is nothing that you can't find. Be careful that I don't start haunting you with even the smallest triviality in my life, whether it is related to translation or not.

Thanks a million.

Law enforcement and the courts have been my life for some 25 years and I have law enforcement contacts in many Spanish speaking countries so I enjoy addressing these types of questions. Therefore... please feel free.

Necesito traducir al inglés lo siguiente: "En la localidad de Tlaxamatelicatemo, en la Republica de Guatemala, se dio inicio a la audiencia, la cual está a cargo del C. Juez Alberto Ríos."

Muchas gracias,
