    Default Vicio Oculto

    Hi everyone!

I got another question... How would you translate "vicio oculto" into English?
I found it in a contract of sale (real estate).

    Thanks!!

Nadia the word “oculto” in this context could be translated as undetected, disguised or unrevealed depending on whether the concealment was intentional or not.
On the other hand the word “vicio” could be translated as:

    - fault: if you are referring to an error in the construction of the real estate or

    - default: if you are referring to a payment failure associated with the sale

Out of these options you can make the combination that you find most suitable : such as undetected default, unrevealed fault, etc

    I hope this helps

Truly, my dear young friends, you are a chosen generation. I hope you will never forget it.

latent defect n. a hidden flaw, weakness or imperfection in an article which a seller knows about, but the buyer cannot discover by reasonable inspection. It includes a hidden defect in the title to land, such as an incorrect property description. Generally, this entitles the purchaser to get his/her money back (rescind the deal) or get a replacement without a defect on the basis of "implied" warranty of quality that a buyer could expect ("merchantability"). Even an "as is" purchase could be rescinded if it could be shown the seller knew of the flaw
