Default Adding styles to Chinese fonts

    Hi everybody!
As a DTPer I usually work English to Chinese files. While formatting the final documents I always try to keep the italics and bolds formats from the source into the target document. But, is it OK to apply these kind of styles in Chinese or some other non-occidental languages?
I mean, does Chinese use font variations?

Thanks in advance for your help

    Hello santiagop,
I think I've found something to say about this, if not the right answer. According to this article, you shouldn't use that formatting, but people use it because of the typical compatibility issues.
And here is another article that mentioned the previous one.
