Pardon me if I'm posting in the wrong place.

I'm very frustrated. I translate/interpret locally. For some time I've wanted to get contract work from a company to supplement my income. The problem I've faced is that a company always wants 1-2 paragraph(s) translated. I am a native English (US) speaker and fluent in Spanish and my husband is native Spanish speaker fluent in English and he acts as my proofreader. I've done several of these tests and go over it with my husband and it looks exact to both of us.

The problem is that I've been repeatedly turned down. I feel I've wasted my precious time and they end up with their translation at no charge. I need some advice on how all of you handle this. Please help. I really want to branch out to do work outside of the city I live in.

Thank you. Any help is greatly appreciated.
