    Default Turnaround time

Hey guys, What would you say the average turnaround time for a project of 2,000 words into 10 languages should be? Thanks!

    Hi Amayo!
Well, Im not sure whether thatīs enough information to say a turnaround time...
Sometimes itīs not just the wordcount but:
    - formatting? itīs not same thing if itīs an MS Word file or an Autocadfile
    - content? general text or chemistry?
    - languages? usual languages or rare languages? same time zone or across the world?

Thanks guys! Analaura, let's say its a plain Word document with no DTP needed, but the content is technical. Let's say it's a legal contract. How many days would you say that should take?

    Hi there...

If content is very sensitive it might take up to 4 business days, if we consider there will be 3 people reviewing per language, that would be 30 translators total. (Translator + Reviewer or Editor + Proofer).
You might have some languages earlier, on the 3rd day, may be those languages closer to your time zone...
Sometimes itīs not just wc, thereīs many other factors involved.
What if the languages were karen, gujarati, etc
Now, if we get 2 translators per language, we might have it in 3.
    Any other opinion?

Thanks Analaura. It's good to have an idea of the complications there are with working with so many languages at one time. Especially when there's a three step process involved. It sounds to me that the safest bet would be to leave 4 days for a project of this size.

Unless someone else out there doesn't agree...

I'd say 4 days to go safe, as having 10 languages for sure you'll be working with some complicated ones too, at least in terms of time zones and getting the resources while you are at the office for example.

Yes, that's a good point malterio. If the target languages include Asiatic languages will that add another day onto the turnaround time?
