To activate line-breaking rules, go to File > Options > Advanced > Layout Options (at bottom) > Use line-breaking rules (mark checkbox)
To keep roman characters in their original font, go to File > Options > Advanced > Editing Options > Asian fonts also apply to Latin text (uncheck box)
One more ting about these advanced settings, you have to do it every time you open a MS Word file. Indeed, I thought this had to be done only once, but unfortunately, every time I open a Word file, the "Use line-breaking rules" checkbox is not marked. I havent found a way to have these setting recorded as default in Word..... Careful!

santiagop, do you know which MS Word versions have these settings? I looked for the Asian fonts also apply to Latin text checkbox in someones else's computer, and he didnt have it! However, it did have the line breaking setting.

Hi Nabylm
I work with Word 2010 and both settings are available. Maybe older versions have these settings located in another place.
