Cool How to Process Visio files?

    Hi everyone!
    How are you all doing?
well, now it´s me and the Visio!

I´ve heard of a tool... Transtool? that works similar to the Translatecad, for drawings, by extracting the text and then importing text back into the Visio files...
    Anyone has something to share?

I need to process lots of Visio files, with quite a lot of text... Help!

    Hi Ana,
Transtool is a easy-to-use add in for Visio. It exports Visio files to Word format so you can process it with Memsource.
    Hope that it helps

    Hi Santiago!

Yes! I helped... a lot! easy and amazing add in.
You have 2 options, similar to the Translatecad.
You can extract the text to be translated, and once translation is done, you can put translated text back into place.

That's OK. The first step is to extract the texts from the Visio using the command "Extract translatable Text" This makes a Word file with a two-column text extraction ready to translate. Once you have the billingual table back from translation, you only need to place it to the target file using the "translate using translation table" command. You paste the billingual table and Voilá... The file becomes automatically translated.

Thanks Santiago, I did not know so far that we had this tool to help us with visio related translations. I have to say that always ended up working with them outside memsource, but now I'll try this. Cheers.

Yes, you first extract the text, and as Santiago says, you need to have the visio file/files open.
Here you can see also what Salvador says about being able to process more than one file at once!

I didn´t know about this tool but I will certainly try it! And how is it that you can process more than one file at a time?

    Hi Lorena
In the screenshot above, on the right, you can see a button "All", and once you click on that button, you get all the boxes on the left checked. While you can also work on one particular file at a time, by clicking on one box only...

    WARNING!
Sometimes the text extraction comes with xml tabs. These tabs look like: <para> </para>, <tab> </tab>, and so on, adn are generally colored in blue.
You should hide these tabs and NOT translate them. You must keep them with no changes for the pasting process.
