Cool Celtic music (and culture)

Anybody out there like celtic music like me? I'll tell you what I like if you tell me what YOU like!

How about fairies, and triskels, and blessings and all that??? I find the Celtic culture fascinating!

I want to share this Irish blessing with you. Hope you like it:

May you live as long as you want,
And never want as long as you live.

Lau

hey... thanks for the contributions. (no metal for me, though!) My favorite: Loreena McKennit, Clannad, Hevia, Luar na Lubre, and also some local (Argentine) bands...

you know the Irish love 3 things, mostly - God, beer and the Irish... (in fact, they say God created beer to prevent the Irish from dominating the world!) I'm sharing an Irish joke first, then a toast. hope you like them (and if you have some, post them!)

Irish joke:
McQuillan walked into a bar and ordered martini after martini, each time removing the olives and placing them in a jar. When the jar was filled with olives and all the drinks consumed, he started to leave.

"S'cuse me," said a customer, who was puzzled over what McQuillan had done. "What was that all about?"

"Nothing," he replied, "my wife just sent me out for a jar of olives."

Toast:
Here's to a long life and a merry one.
A quick death and an easy one.
A pretty girl and an honest one.
A cold pint-- and another one!

BEER!

Special comment about it... If you like good Irish-style beer, don't miss Antares -Porter, the dark one, and Scotch, the red wine... sublime! Antares beer is "home-brewed" in Mar del Plata, but now there are two more Antares bars, one in La Plata and in one in Palermo (since October!) Check them out!

CHEERS!

Default Celtic music

Hey, Laura, I also like Celtic culture, but specially Celtic music.
I actually play in a Celtic Band, where we do mostly Irish, but also some songs of ours, and some Breton (from Bretagne) music. I play the flute and tin whistle, also a little bodhran.
No metal for me, neither. I really like Clannad, but the early Clannad, then it got a little New Age for my taste. Then you must have heard Triona, she's absolutely great. She was in The Bothy Band in the 70s, then as a soloist. And the Bretons of Kornog, they are really good, too.
Your jokes are really nice

A friend of mine is a huge fan of Celtic culture. In fact, he is in Dublin right now... So he taught me a lot of things of ireland and I started to like their music, their beer and their stories. I used to go to Druid Inn a lot, too!

Does anybody here know something about Celtic numbers? I know someone who wants to use them for a tatto, but she can't find them...
