Default Oxford Crimes

I went to see this film last week...does anyone know if all the mathematical theories posed there are really true? It was a bit chaotic at some point...with this huge mixture of philosophical theories and math problems...Anyone with a clue?

Default Oxford Crimes

Hi, Sabrina!

For all I know, Oxford Crimes is based on a novel written by the Argentine writer Guillermo Martinez. He is not only a writer, but also a mathematician (in fact, one of his books is called "Borges and Mathematics"), so they must be true.

Hope it helps!!!!!

Default Info on the movie

Hi there!

I think you may find this website interesting: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0488604/. It's my favorite site in relation to movies.

Here you may read info on "The Oxford Murders", the movie you are discussing. I haven't watched yet, but I'm planning to watch it soon.

By the way, there's another movie by Alex de la Iglesia, the director, which I really loved: "La Comunidad". It's just great! Besides, Carmen Maura plays the main part: she's an excellent actress!

Hi, Guadalupe!

I totally agree with you. "La Comunidad" is a great movie. And I really enjoyed "El dia de la bestia", as well.

I haven't seen "Oxford Crimes" yet, because I want to read the book first. If you see it, please tell us what you think.

Cheers!

Cool

Did you know that the book that movie was based on was written by an Argentinean mathematician who was a professor at the University of Buenos Aires? (A friend of mine was a student of a friend of his... really close, really close! but he couldn't meet him)
