Ricky Gervais is the actor's name. The British series is really good, but different. He also had another series on HBO called "Extras" that revolved around aspiring actors who work as extras. It also ran for two seasons before ending in a glorious Christmas episode...I sense a theme

I was a big fan of the British series, Ricky Gervais is a master of toe-curling "vergüenza ajena" (is there an acceptable English term for this?), "Extras" further proves his genius.

The US version frankly...is not quite the same. It's good, but not as sharp and spiffy as the original. I have to admit however that I find myself watching it on rainy afternoons with nothing better to do...
