Default Automatic translator as "professional substite"

    Hello every one,

What would you say to the owner of a website that made use of google translate instead of a professional translator.

The site is supposed to be a bilingual English-Spanish website but the Spanish site is entirely translated automatically with Google. Of course you can imagine its results, would you help me with some nice arguments to convince them to use a professional translator please.

BTW I'm not a professional translator, so you may want to offer your services to them

    Cheers
    David

    Hi David!
I think that you should contact them and let them know that you are not interested in selling your services at all but to tell them that their spanish website is not serious at all and that it might even hurt their business as no Spanish speaker would trust them.
    Hope it helps

Thank you MariaLaura that's very good, definitively I'll contact them and use your gentle argument.

My concerns are because I'm in an affiliate program with them offering web hosting, the problem is that every time I send a possible customer, then he or she complains because they hardly understand what the website is trying to say

    Cheers and thanks for answering

I would definitely start with that! Tell them that every customer you sent complaints that they can't understand what they say... I'm sure that if you put it that way, they'll get the point...

Excellent article mariacecilia, I'm going to post it to the company in question, might be that way they finally consider to hire someone.

    Cheers
