    Default wok

    Hi:
I want to get a wok, but I don't know what kind to buy. Can you give me some tips for choosing a good one? I've seen different kinds but I'm not sure which one's the best. For example, what should it be made of, what size is better for cooking, etc.
    Thanks

    Hi Andrea!
I have 2 woks at home. You have a huge variety of sizes and materials. I recommend "Teflon". I've had mine for 2 years and it's still in good shape. The size depends on how many people you cook for, and the type of food you want to prepare.. it's often useful to have more than one!

Do you cook a lot? I could use some recipes... My brother is sick of eating always the same..

I agree with Maria Laura, Teflon is the way to go. It's easy to clean and nothing sticks to it. In terms of size, I'd recommend a bigger one, it's easier to cook things like stir-fry in.

There are some "woks" with flat bottom, but the authentic woks are completely round-bottom. This allows the flame reaches both bottom and sides of the wok, and it helps to cook uniformly.

Thank you all for your ideas. I'll go with Teflon with no flat bottom then.
I like cooking, I wish I had more time to cook. I want to learn how to cook Oriental dishes because I loooove them. I'll send you the recipies when I learn them. But if you have some, I'm all ears...or eyes.
    Thanks
