Default Food

We all eat. We all like it.

But what's our favorite ethnic dish. It could be a Japanese dish or it could be a Indian dish.

What's your favortie food that doesn't come from your culture?

My favorite has to be Jellyfish. My dad took me to Japan and I decided to adventurous.
Now then next time I go to Japan I'm having Jellyfish. I could care less about the bugs.

I have come to like Indonesian food without the hot part!!! no picante por favor!!! the coconut milk is used for many recipes and it gives a very nice touch to the soups and the meat!

although back home there's a craze - or maybe there was - a japanese food craze, I never got hooked. I don't know what others will say, but Japanese food lacks something... what are your thoughts on that?

I do agree. It sometimes lack any spice what so ever, but sometimes when you have that sweet sauce and some soy sauce you're like OMG THIS SO GOOD!

OH EM GEE! (Anyone see Bring it On? ? Well, don't).
Let's start a "I don't go for bugs, either" Club. Although, I've heard crickets taste like chicken. Is there an expression like that in Spanish? Por ahi that question is for another thread...
Personally, my favorite food outside of my culture is sushi. People, it is totally spicey. You have to throw some wasabi on it! mmmmmmmmmmmmmgood
Plus, it tastes so good with a bottle of white wine, or saki (sp?) and the entire presentation of a sushi dinner has an aesthetic value.
Dontcha think?!

Suishi is good as well.
I love mixing the wasabi and the soy sauce together to make spicy salty sauce as I call it. I love suishi, bugs, and Italian food.
I like a lot of things.

yeah! What are kindof like the staple drinks for your region? I'm interested in something called the jamaica in Buenos Aires- or at least Argentina. I've heard a little bit about it. Something to do with the hibiscus flower? Anyone?
