    Default Healthy Eating

I've recently started to exercise and eat healthier. I am in a relationship, and I'm sure most, if not everyone, can relate that when you first get into a relationship you may gain a few extra pounds. My extra pounds became a bit excessive. I have made the decision that I need to snap out of this and start exercising again. Right before we started dating I was in the best shape and now slowly but surely I'm getting back into shape. One of my biggest challenges is my eating habits.

I get bored quickly and I always want things to taste good. If it doesn't taste good chances are I'm not going to stick with it. Does any one have any good tasting suggestions so I can broaden the things I can eat.

Also any exercising tips!! I would greatly appreciate it.

I love to cook, so recipes are welcome as well!!

I would recommend eating your favorite fruit for a snack.

Thank you Salvadorm and amayo for your wonderful suggestions. I have been running but unfortunately I've had to take a break because I get shins splints. I was ignoring the pain and kept pushing myself but I can't ignore the pain any longer. It's gotten to the point where I can barely walk on my right leg once I'm done running. It is so sad because I love to run, especially outdoors. I hate using a treadmill!! It seems I'm doomed to be pleasantly plump forever!!!

Shin splints are the worst. If you´re ready to give swimming a try I heard it´s great low impact exercise. Like you though, I prefer to run. I finally got my 10k under 1 hour last week!

If eating desserts is one of your problem areas I recently "found" something that makes a great dessert that will satisfy a craving with very little penalty.

Sugar free flavored gelatin sprinkled with Splenda and topped with whipped cream.

Amazingly, it has only about 25 calories and virtually no carbs. The "jello" is 5 calories and no carbs per 6 oz cup and 2 tablespoons of whipped cream are 15 calories and 1 carb. I put two cups in a bowl and sprinkle with Splenda which adds sweetness. The whipped cream adds the extra creaminess that satisfies.

I buy the packages of 12 cups which are about 6 ounces per cup and come in orange, lemon/lime, cherry, and black cherry.

    It's really good.

Ayyyy Vicente, that sounds yummy if I only liked jello!!! I don't like the feel of jello in my mouth. But maybe the whip cream will help???

I have been thinking of swimming like amayo suggested, but the only time I would be able to swim would be during my lunch break at work. I don't know how I feel about that

Thanks guys!! Unfortunately, I´m having back issues and have had to stop running for the time being. Hopefully, I´ll be able to get back to it soon!!
