The International Federation of Translators XIX World Congress—Bridging Cultures—will bring together translators, interpreters, terminologists, and other professionals from all over the world to discuss topical issues. Over 100 educational sessions will be offered in a variety of categories. Events and activities will allow for opportunities to network, mingle, and socialize.


FIT is an international federation of associations of translators, interpreters, and terminologists gathering more than 100 associations from all over the world. Its purpose is to promote professionalism in the disciplines it represents. FIT is also concerned with the conditions of professional practice in various countries and strives to defend translators' rights in particular and freedom of expression in general. FIT maintains formal operational relations with UNESCO.


The FIT XIX World Congress is hosted by the American Translators Association (ATA) in cooperation with the International Federation of Translators (FIT). ATA is a professional association founded to advance the translation and interpreting professions and foster the professional development of individual translators and interpreters. Its 11,000 members in more than 90 countries include translators, interpreters, teachers, project managers, web and software developers, language company owners, hospitals, universities, and government agencies.
