Hi! and Welcome... Hope you enjoy it!
It's a saying in our society that paradise lies beneath a mother's feet. We are reminded to honour and respect our mother because only with her forgiveness (through the imagery of kissing her feet) that we can enter heaven. Such is the level of honour given to mothers in our society. In view of this, I'd say: "El cielo está a los pies de mi madre" If anybody has any other suggestion... you're welcome! Regards,

I like mem's suggestion, possibly also:
"la gloria está donde están las madres" I hope you like this variation: Dios no puede estar en todas partes y que por eso creó a las madres |

I have another suggestion:
"El cielo se rinde a los pies de mi madre" I think it sounds better than my previous answer. Cheers!

I am only new to this forum myself, but I LOVE it !
And as you say, Spanish is such a beautiful language. "Heaven is beneath my mother's feet" doesn't sound half as nice as : "el cielo está a los pies de mi madre" or "la gloria está donde están las madres" or "el cielo se rinde a los pies de mi madre"... ¡ espléndido ! Frank by the way, what about "el padre" (what's beneath my feet?) Last edited by Frank van den Eeden : 02-21-2008 at 02:29 AM. |
