Hi People!

We are translating some refrigerator user's Manual into Neutral Spanish...

Do you honestly think that "No Frost" should be translated? I mean, we found "antiescarcha" but making a GoogleFight "No Frost" wins for 165000 against 365...

Yo vivo en Argentina, creo que no frost debería traducirse por antiescarcha. Quizás mucha gente sepa de qué se trata, pero no todos, y si el manual es para un país de habla hispana creo que todas las palabras deberían estar en español

Hi,

In Chile, this type of refrigerators are sold everywhere with the label "no frost".

In explanations, though, we say "que no hace hielo". Hope that helps.

Default El consumidor merece una traducción...
Yo también pienso que hay que traducir el término, especialmente porque se esta traduciendo el Manual (puede que el consumidor este buscando una explicación al significado de NO FROST con que le vendieron la heladera). Creo que una de las mejores opciones es SISTEMA ANTI-ESCARCHA. Caso contrario, al menos pondría entre paréntesis luego de NO FROST (No produce escarcha).

Si, yo coincido con Mariana B.
Lo mejor sería traducir el término, y agregar No Frost entre paréntesis.

Seria posible considerar "Sin Escarcha"? Siendo que es mas cerca a lo literal, porque lo que se esta traduciendo no es "Anti-Frost" pero "No" frost.

El termino mas acertado a nivel neutral en este caso seria "sin escarcha", pues en la mayoria de las especificaciones con las que me he encontrado asi lo refieren.
