    Default Vaya lata que dan

I know that dar la lata can mean to nag or to be a pain in the neck. The author is talking about investigating some things in the past but it might create more problems than it solves. The actual quote is "pero francamente: vaya lata que dan." My initial reaction was "let sleeping dogs lie". Does anyone have any other ideas?

"...sleeping dogs..." is good, I think.

Another take might be: "If they go ahead that way, they'll open up
    a can of worms...".

Thanks very much...I think in the whole context of the article, "let sleeping dogs lie" might be the best.
