    Es de Argentina, ¿verdad? Creo que usualmente solo decimos insistir o “to insist”. Si es fuerte, es diferente. Tal vez, "to force beliefs on someone".

    Usualmente, se usa esa palabra para los extremistas religiosos. Pero no sé. Tal vez “bajar línea” tiene la misma connotación.

    Hola gernt, Algunos diccionarios dirán que tiene significado religioso,
    y no más, pero el OED incluye también influencias políticas, etc.

    Yo siempre he usado la palabra en contexto más ancho...

    Noooo me parece demasiado...

    Generalmente, los que "bajan línea" son los jefes. Se usa mucho en el ámbito laboral y también en el político.

    Tal vez mi contestación no será muy bien para los jefes - menos mal decir “yes, sir” o “yes ma’am”.
