I cannot recover my MP3 device and I desperately need help.
I got a web page which gives instructions how to recover it but in Spanish.
I would be extremely grateful if someone helps me out.
Even if someone provides a brief idea of what the text says, I would be extremely grateful..

Recuperando MP3 device


1. Identifique o device: Descubra o número da placa
2. Abra o s1mp3
3. Instale os drivers e faça o windows detectar o player
4. Instale um update program compatível
5. Coloque o dispositivo no modo de recuperação (curto – circuito)
6. Encontre o firmware apropriado para o seu mp3 player
7. Socorro! Eu ainda não consigo recuperar meu mp3 player!

1. Identifique o player : Descubra o numero da placa
Para saber qual é o firmware correto para o seu player, voce deve descobrir o numero da
placa. É a única forma de identificar o seu player com segurança.
Quando você tiver descobrido o número da placa, voce pode ver se ja testaram algum
firmware para a sua placa na Lista de firmwares Clicando Aqui.
Se voce não sabre abrir o seu mp3 player, leia!

2. Abra o s1 mp3

1) Encontre uma mesa limpa para trabalhar, tenha certeza que o chão não está muito
bagunçado. Vai ser muito mais fácil achar de volta aquesles pequeninos parafusos e
peças que tendem a cair exatamente no lugar errado.

2) Coloque uma chave de ferramentas ou faca entre o plug USB e a tampa de plástico(a
do lado da pilha).

3) Alavanque a tampa de plástico do resto do player. Ela não está colada, vai sair com
faciliadade. Tenha força mas seja gentil, necessário. Não se preocupe se o plastico fizer
uns barulhos estranhos, são so os clips desencaixando, você não está quebrando nada.

4) Nas quatro quinas da PCB (a placa com os chips soldados), você vai achar quatro
parafisos. Ache uma chave de fenda que encaixe, remova-os, e coloque-os em um lugar
seguro. Quanger coisa da pra guardar o parafusos, até uma caixa de ovos, mas não perca
perca-os! Você pode agora levantar a PCB. Tenha cuidado, porque o cabo do LCD(cabo
chato e marrom) é bem frágil. Não quebre-o!!

5) Agora você pode remover com segurança o anel de brilante ou de plástico. Note
como ele encaixa embaixo ba PCB, e como o cabo LCD passa. Isso pode ser um pouco
complicado para remontar depois, então se você se lembrar de como estava antes, vai
ser bem mais fácil colocar de volta.

6) Você pode agora ver a parte de trás da placa onde está a o visor LCD. Devem ter dois
parafusos nela. Novamente, remova-os com a chave de fenda e coloque-os em um
(outro) container! Não os perca! Voce precisa deles! Depois disso, voce pode tirar a
placa do plástico. Lembre-se, o cabo LCD marrom é frágil, não quebre-o!!
Parabéns! Você dissecou o seu mp3 player! Para remontá-lo, siga os passos na ordem
invertida.

3. Instale os drivers e faça o windows detectar o player
Primeiramente, desinstale o “mp3 player tools” que voce havia instalado antes. Instale a
versão 1.45 disponível em Ferramentas.

Desplugue o player e remova todos os drivers relacionados a USB no gerenciador de
dispositivos.(device mananger)

Agora, clique em “procurar por mudanças no hardware”. Após as instalação dos novos
drivers USB, plugue o seu player.

Se você tiver problemas com os drivers, estes podem ser obtidos no mesmo local onde
você instalou o ” MP3 player utilities”(arquivos de programas/MP3 Player Utilities/),
nas pastas “Windows98Drv”, e “Dissipate/drivers”.

Se você seguir todos esses passos e o windows ainda não reconheceu o seu mp3 player,
voce pode tentar apertar todos os botões ao conectar o seu mp3 player. Tente todos os
botões, e mantenha-os pressionados. Se não der certo, você pode tentar conectá-lo em
outro computador.

Se nada funcionar, não se desespere, você ainda pode tentar curto circuito na memória
para colocar o player no “recovery mode”.

4. Instale um update program compatível
Pule esse passo se o mp3 update tool funciona.

Primeiramente, tenha certeza que voce já fez os passos acima, e desative os anti
virus/anti spywares.

Tente plugar o dispositivo sem a pilha. e veja se segurar os botões resolve os erros do
update program.

Se você ainda estiver com erroes como “UNKNOW FLASH TYPE “, “FLASH NOT
RESPONDING”, “DEVICE NOT DETECTED”, “DEVICE IS BUSY“, Voce deve
desinstalar o seu “mp3 update program e tentar outras verões.(Veja o Mp3 player update
tool - Clique Aqui)

Se ainda assim não der certo, você pode tentar dar um curto circuito na memória e fazer
o player ir para o “recovery mode”.

5. Coloque o dispositivo no modo de recuperação (curto-circuito)
Voce deve abrir o seu mp3 player. Se voce ainda não fez isso, veja o abra o s1mp3.

Reconheça a chip the memória, próximo ao ATJ2085 chip. Costuma ser um chip
samsung, e é o maior chip da placa. Para ajuda na identificação dos componentes da
placa, veja o Resumo do s1mp3 por dentro. Existem players com dois chips de
memória. Se for o seu caso, faça o curto com o chip de memória próximo ao ATJ2085.

Agora, sem as baterias, encoste a ponta da chave de fenda conectando duas pernas
quaisquer do grupo IO. Com a chave encostada, conecte o player na porta USB.



Se você tiver sucesso, o windows vai fazer um som de “novo dispositivo detectado” e
vai reconhecer um dispositivo “ADFU server” . Agora, deixe o windows instalar os
drivers. Agora, no “recovery mode”, voce pode queimar qualquer firmware, após
encontrar o update program apropriado.

Pode ser necessário repetir este processo várias vezes até que se consiga um curto
efetivo.

6. Encontre o firmware apropriado para o seu mp3 player
Com o seu número de placa em mãos, olhe o Lista de firmwares - Clique Aqui . Se voce achar um
firmware compatível, você está com sorte, use-o!

Mas, se voce não achar a sua placa la, então vc vai ter que achar por conta própria, por

Recovering an MP3 device

1. Identify the device: Discover the plate number

3. Install the drivers and make windows detect the player
4. Install a compatible update software
5. Set the device on recovering mode (short - circuit)
6. Find the appropriate firmware for your mp3 player
7. Help! I still can't recover my mp3 player!

1. Identify the player: Discover the plate number
To know what's the correct firmware of your player, you must discover the plate number. It's the only way to certainty identify your player.
After you discovered the plate number, you can see if some firmware was already tested for your plate in the Firmwares List Clicking here.
If you don't know how to open your mp3 player, read!

2. Open the s1 mp3

1) Find a clean table to work, be sure that the floor isn't messy. It will be much easier to find back those little screws and pieces that tend to fall exactly in the wrong place.

2) Set a tool key or place it between the USB plug and the plastic cap (the one form the battery).

3) Lever the plastic cap of the rest of the player. It isn't glued, it will go out easily. Make it strong, but be gentle, it's necessary. Don't worry if the plastic makes strange noises, are the clips dislodged, you aren't breaking anything.

4) On the four corners of the PCB (the plate with the welded chips), you'll find four screws. Get a screwdriver, remove them, and put in a safe place. Any place works to save the screws, even an egg's box, but do not lose them! Now you can lift up the PCB. Be careful because the LCD cable (a flat brown wire) is very fragile. Do not break it!

5) Now you can safety remove the plastic or shiny ring. Note how it fits under the PCB, and how the LCD cable pass by. This can be a little complicated to remount later, so if you remember how it was before, it would be easier to put it back.

6) Now you can see the rear of the plate where's the LCD viewer. There must be two screws in it. Again, remove them with the screwdriver and place them in (another) jar. Don't lose them! You need them! After this, you can extract the plastic cap. Remember, the brown LCD cable is fragile, don't break it!

Firstly, uninstall the “mp3 player tools” that you have installed before. Install the 1.45 version available in Tools.
Unplug the player and remove all the drivers related to the USB in the device manager.

If you have trouble with the drivers, these can be got from the same place where you installed the “mp3 player utilities” (program files/mp3 player Utilities/), in the “Windows98Drv” and “Dissipate/drivers” folders.

If you follow all these steps and windows still doesn't recognize your mp3 player, you can try to press all the buttons when connecting your mp3 player. Try all the buttons, and keep them pressed. If it doesn't work out, you can try connect it to another computer.

If nothing works, don't become desperate, you still can try a short-circuit in the memory to place the player on “recovery mode”.

4. Install a compatible update software
Jump this step if the mp3 update tool works.

Firstly, be sure that you did the above steps, and inactivate the anti-virus/anti-spy-wares.

Try to plug the device without battery and see if secure all buttons solves the update program errors.

If you still have errors like “UNKNOW FLASH TYPE”, “FLASH NOT RESPONDING”, “DEVICE NOT DETECTED”, “DEVICE IS BUSY”, you must uninstall the mp3 update software and try other versions. (See the mp3 player update tool - Click here)

If still it doesn't work out, you can try to give a short-circuit to the memory and make the player go to “recovery mode”.
