Default Idiom help

"Alzarse con el santo y la limosna."
Can anyone give me a good translation this idiom? The best translation I have found is "To clear off with everything" which doesnt make much sense in english....

Hmmm...here are a couple attempts:

"To make out like a bandit..."

"To take everything but the kitchen sink..."

Your second choice, meromero, is quite eloquent!

Default Wiat!

Hello,

The experession you're dealing with has this standard meaning: Extremar la devoción en las prácticas religiosas con exceso de beatería. So I do not think the meaning wouold be like of steal.

Hope this works.

Mario

I disagree Mario, it really means "to take everything"....I'd go with the kitchen sink too :-)

yeah, you're probably right. I have asked my grandmother and she thinks you're right.

Best,
