    Default An Argentinian expression.

I came across this sentence in an Argentinian novel, "Separá la plata de X, no sea cosa que como un burro te la dio otro te la lleve."
I think this means, “you had better not spend it because otherwise you will have to pay him out of your own pocket.” But I am looking for a similar English saying or expression, but so far it has eluded me...
    Can anyone help?

How about: Getting money out of X would be as likely as getting blood out of a stone.

I will give it a try: Easy come easy go?

Very curious about what the natives will post.
