Hola!

Necesito ayuda en un contexto de una novela de Leopoldo Alas que traduzco. El contexto es:

"A�os hac�a que no se le hab�a ocurrido tal cosa; pero sent�a en aquel momento un poco de sol de invierno en el alma; el cuerpo le ped�a aventuras, atrevimientos. �Cu�ntas veces, frente a aquel postigo, hab�a so�ado su juventud que por all� iba a entrar su felicidad, lo inesperado, lo po�tico, lo ideal, lo inaudito!"

Tengo una duda en la segunda frase (�Cu�ntas veces...) . Este "su juventud" �a qu� se refiere? �Acaso la frase quiere decir "cu�ntas veces, cuando estaba joven, hab�a so�ado que por all� iba a entrar su felicidad"?�Este es el sentido?

Gee. I don't understand either. It seems like a word is missing. The best I can figure is:

It had been years since such a thing had happened, but in that moment, he felt a bit of winter sun in his soul. His body was begging for adventure and daring. How many times in his youth in front of that secret door had he dreamed that through it he would enter (to find) happiness, the unexpected, the poetic, the ideal, the incredible.

Of course, I don't have a clue if it's a man or a woman, or to what postigo refers. I'm just guessing.
