    Default burguesía fronteriza

    Hola!

    hello elisatas -

my first impression is 'country folk'.
(as opposed to townspeople or villagers)

might vary depending on broader context,
    perhaps 'pioneers', for example.

hope this helps. favor de decirme si
    debo responder en espanol.

    Hola Elisatas:

I think the Burguesía refers to educated (ilustrada) landed gentry. They have land and cattle but in the fast moving new economy their wealth moves slowly in comparison to the fast moving hustle of the town. Fronteriza might simply mean they're close to the border but only a more complete reading of the text could tell us that for certain.
