Hi,
I'm having difficulties translating "muros escuálidos" in the following sentence: "Del templo del oráculo de Amón, en el oasis de Siwa sólo quedan hoy muros escuálidos" I was wondering if any natives could clarify the meaning of 'escuálido' in this context because the DRAE has two dictionary definitions: escuálido, da. (Del lat. squalĭdus). 1. adj. Flaco, macilento. 2. adj. Sucio, asqueroso Thanks a million! Last edited by userfriendlyzines : 05-14-2009 at 03:59 PM. |

Hi userfriend,
yes, the idea is that they are thin and "worn down".
