You think I need any corrections? The parts I'm unsure about I'll mark in red...
PARTIRÁS (Letra: Pedro Ruíz Céspedes / Miguel Gallardo) Las flores no tienen precio, ni hay autobuses al sol Flowers don't have a price, nor are there buses to the sun y no me asusta el desprecio, de una niña de charol and the disdain of a gіrl of leather doesn't frighten me Y si no me entiende nadie, ni me quieres de verdad And if no one understands me, nor you really love me me casaré con el aire, y moriré en soledad I will marry the air and die in loneliness Y si no tengo la suerte, de encontrar a mi mitad And if I am not lucky enough to find my [better] half le seré fiel a la muerte, que en ella habré de parar I will be faithful to death, in it I will have to stop [looking?] Partirás, partirás You will split, you will split a tu mundo, a tu ciudad your world, your city partirás, partirás You will split, you will split Porque me gusta ser libre, y entregarme sin dudar Because I like being frее, and surrendering(?) without doubt soy demasiado sensible, para dejarme engañar I am too sensitive to let myself be fooled |

habré de parar...parar de hacer algo??? o vivir???? (exept for what sandrat pointed out)....is ok...but ......translate poetry or songs is VERY difficult, because you have to choose btw, form and rhyme for example, what's more important...what the writer said or how he said it???.....and most of times is a combination of both....in this case it is not that difficult, but for example...what if split is a metaphor.....a personal experience???....etc.... you should investigate more about the writers...or ask them if you can...that would give you a better clue... CHAVELA...... Last edited by Pablohz : 05-31-2008 at 11:23 PM. |
