Hola Chicos,
En mi país decimos "quedar mal parado" cuando los resultados de nuestra acción no nos es favorable. Tiene un sentindo negativo, ya que nos vemos expuestos ante el otro u otros por haber obrado no muy bien, ya sea por haber omitido, mentido, etc.
En inglés está la expresión "come off badly"
Creen que se asemeja a lo que les explico arriba, o hay otra opción? Quizá algo mas coloquial.

Hay várias opciónes here in the U.S.:

in addition to "come off badly" we say "to go badly"

to end badly

come to a bad end

aquí también usamos "to not go well" (ex. no fue bíen).

De acuerdo con Vicente, pero para mi, "to come off badly" significa ser misinterpretado, cuando no te expresas exactamente como quieres. "It didn't go well" sería la mejor opción para mi. Suerte!
