I was wondering if anyone could help me translate this Spanish proverb:
"A barba moza, verguenza poca" I have an idea, just want to verify if it's right. Thank you! ![]() |

Hi!
In spanish it means that the younger a person is, less shame he/she feels. I don't know an equivalent in English if that is what you're looking for. I guess you may say that "Youth has no shame"... Wait for an English-native speaker suggestion. There are many in this forum and they are all very helpful.Hope it helps!

Hello!
I happen to have multilingual dictionary on proverbs. It says "A poca barba, poca vergüenza" in Spanish and translates that as "You must not expect old heads on young shoulders". |

Hi Annika!
After some research, this is what I found in the Boletín bibliográfico español by Dionisio Hidalgo, Manual Fernandez Hidalgo, Arturo Piera: It might have two meanings: 1- Don't expect young people to behave as old or grown up people (because they are not) 2- Little or young beard inspires no respect and besides young people has no shame compared to old people. Hope it helps!

Thank you so much Mem and Annika. Honestly, when I read this post I didn’t have the slightest idea of what that proverb meant, let alone translating it.
