Post Translating 18th c. Spanish

Hi everyone,

I'm working on translating an 18th century document and need help with a few words. It is handwritten, so I can't make out all the right letters and need some help figuring out what these words in bold could be. All words should relate to gold jewelry....

"Un grano de Perla grande, y diez chiquitas de alfofax"

"Un par de mamillas de oro"

"Un terno de Hevillas, Chareltena, y cunbatin de oro"

Hi Lezah! It would help to know where the document is from, do you have any idea?

In the text, do you think it could be "semilla" instead of "mamilla"?

The other words I am not sure of, instead of "fax" in "alfofax" I thought perhaps it could be flex or flax...good luck!

You will have to pardon me here if this post dose not belong on this thread. I’m new to the forum.
I have a copy of a document written in New Orleans in 1794 and signed by Gov. Carondelet. The document is, of course, hand written and I am having a great deal of trouble just deciphering the words. Is anyone familiar with 18 century Spanish writing and phrases?

Hi Jon, we did some 17 century Spanish professional translations in 2007, they were from Spain and related with literature... it is really complex to do that kind of work. For what do you need it? Just for fun...?

I am writting an essay on one of the individuals mentioned in the document. I think it is either an arrest warrant or a warrand to sieze the individuals property. I should have mentioned that it is 4 1/2 pages.

If you scan the files then you could publish the gif or jpg or jpeg of the images... You could do that if you want the other people to see the files and help you translate them.

Next, in the messege box find the clip to add the attachment. Search the scan file on your computer and press upload. Remember there's a maximum size required for each file. You'll find that info in the same window where you upload the image.

Hope it helps! We'll be waiting to help you!

The JPEG file is too large. I have included a line from the document. As I stated earlier, I am having trouble deciphering the script and some of the words could be transcribed incorrectly.
